Former police officer pleads guilty to drug charge

ROANOKE — A former police officer from Carroll County and two other people pleaded guilty Friday in U.S. District Court on charges related to distribution of methamphetamine.
Waiving their right to indictment and instead pleading guilty were the former officer, Christopher Franklin Bond, 32, of Austinville; and John Daniel Cantrell, 25, and Kelly Ann Porter, 25, both of Max Meadows.
