Hancock, Betty Carolyn

Mrs. Hancock was born in Grayson County, Va. on February 22, 1932 to the late William & Vinnie Bourne Akers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmer David Hancock. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law David & Janice Hancock; Roy Hancock; Virgil Hancock all of Galax, Va.; Billy & Jackie Hancock of Lexington, N.C.; sister Edna Leath of Lexington, N.C.; brothers & sister-in-law Hobert & Betty Akers of Fries, Va.; Frank Akers of Lexington, N.C.; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2007 at 11:00 AM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Titus Anderson and Terry Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery. The body will lie-in-state at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home from 8:30 am until service time Wednesday.
