Dalton, Alvin Clinton

Alvin Clinton Dalton, 75, of Hillsville, passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his residence.

Mr. Dalton was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Maggie Dalton; a daughter, Sharon Faye Dalton; and a sister, Hallie Davis Delp. He is survived by his wife, Georgia R. McGrady Dalton of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Royce McCraw of Cana and Karen and Martin Slate of Hillsville; son and daughter-in-law, Lewis and Barbara Dalton of Dugspur; brothers and sister-in-law, Friel Dalton of Hillsville and Everette and Sue Dalton of Galax; sisters and brother-in-law, Callie Williams Lowe of Hillsville and Ila Mae and Roy Alderman of Galax; and two grandchildren and spouse, Megan Lenora Slate and Zachary Ryan and Ashley Spencer Slate. Other survivors include sisters-in-law, Joy Goad of Laurel Fork and Mary McGrady of Bland and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at 2 p.m. at VaughanGuynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. James Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Dalton Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday night at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dalton Hill Christian Church Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 790 Hillsville, Va. 24343.
