Surviving, husband, Thomas J. Collins of the home; son and spouse, Kemper and Susan Collins of Alexandria, VA; five grandchildren, Ross Irwin, Justin Collins, Erica Collins Pike and Nick, Jessica Collins and Christina Morrison; three great grandchildren, Tyler, Emma and Isabelle; two brothers, George Perkins, Jr. of Farmville, VA and Lawrence Perkins of Newport News, VA Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Independence, VA. Rev. Matthew Storie officiating. Interment to follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour preceding the funeral service.
