Adams, James Conrad “Connie”

Mr. James Conrad "Connie" Adams, age 92 of Stuart passed away Saturday at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born on Dec. 17, 1919 in Patrick County to the late Walter and Duzzie Foley Adams.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Morrison; and three brothers, Curtis Adams, McCray Adams, and Navy Adams. Mr. Adams served in the US Army during WWII and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and American Legion Post #105. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elsie Lawless Adams of the home; a sister in law, Roberta H. Adams of Stuart; a special nephew, Albert Morrison; two nephews, Wade and Weldon Morrison; and four nieces, Carolyn Gravely, Linda East, Betty Garcia, and Nora Perkins. Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Sycamore Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
