Ray Parson (R.P.) Taylor, 84, of Hillsville, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Trinity Mission of Hillsville. Mr. Taylor was born in Wythe County to the late James M. and Myrtle Frost Taylor.

He is survived by his wife Mamie Shockley Taylor of the home; daughter Jane Taylor of Mount Airy, N.C.; and niece and spouse, Deborah and Reece Matoy, of Sweet Water, Tenn. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, with Dr. Lawrence Childs and Pastor Chip Neely officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery. Masonic Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville Masonic Lodge #193 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday beginning at noon and lasting until service time at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Twin County Humane Society P.O.
