Mays, Louise Cornett

Louise Cornett Mays, 92, of Comers Rock, the Bethel Community, passed away January 27, 2012 at Grayson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Independence. She was born June 30, 1919 at Flatridge to the late Granville Cornett and Drucy Cornett Cornett.
She was predeceased also by her husband, Dean Mays, two sisters, Lavern Parks and Edith Wright and son-in-law, Jerry Simms. Surviving, two daughters and spouse, Deanna and Fred Jones, of Elk Creek and Jane Simms, of Comers Rock; five grandchildren, Debbie (Pat) Fisher, of Charlotte, N.C., Roxie Jones and Andrea Jones, of Elk Creek, Randal (Misty) Jones, of Warrenton, Julie Simms Fritze and Steve Whitt and Janna (Mack) Farmer, of Elk Creek; four great-grandchildren, Cara (Steve) Ashby, Amy (Thomas) Shook, Elizabeth Fritze and Brittany ( John) O\'Bannon: two great-great grandchildren, Emma and Norris. The body is resting at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Bethel United Methodist Church, Comers Rock. The Rev. Bill Shupe and Stephen Cornett officiating. The body will lie in state thirty minutes preceding the service at the church. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Cornett Cemetery, C/O Detha Shepherd, 4411 Big Ridge Road, Elk Creek, Va. 24326 Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
