The Tax-and-Spenders at It Again |

The United States Senate may vote any day on proposed legislation that is called the Global Poverty Act (S.2433). It would amount to a huge global tax on American citizens. This proposed United Nations style welfare to third-world countries could eventually cost U.S. taxpayers as much as $845,000,000,000.00.
Aid from private organizations is far more efficient than aid controlled by government bureaucrats. Giving billions of dollars taken from American taxpayers to petty tyrants and dictators will not solve the problem of poverty. Furthermore, our nation has enough financial needs here without taking on a huge increase in our foreign aid, to the tune of $845 billion. This ill-conceived, disastrous proposed legislation is sponsored by Senator Barack Obama.
