Under Pressure

There is a popular song from 1981 titled, \"Under Pressure\" by Queen. There are a couple of lines from that song which I think accurately describes President Obama\'s reaction in the first few weeks of the BP Gulf oil disaster: \"Turned away from it all like a blind man, Sat on a fence but it don\'t work\"

Anyone who has watched Obama lately can only reach one conclusion, he doesn\'t respond well under pressure! His lack of leadership in responding to the BP oil rig explosion is utter neglect.

He\'s been too busy partying, playing golf, and political fund-raising to deal with the pressure. Even though he is finally showing some signs of paying attention, it is too little, and too late for parts of the Gulf.

Actually, Obama has long shown that he doesn\'t react well to pressure, it\'s just that his party and a willing media are good at hiding it.

For example, look at how he\'s handled the terrorists being kept at Guantanamo Bay (GITMO). Obama has always criticized the existence of the facility, and promised to try the terrorists in U.S. Federal Courts. Yet have you noticed that the issue has gone quiet? It\'s due to the pressure.

Take the issue of our country\'s debt. Is Obama directing Congress to make meaningful spending cuts? Of course not! Is he depleting revenues by enacting unpopular healthcare legislation, and by not extending the Bush tax cuts during a recession. Of course he is! He knows that it is politically easier for his party to increase spending and taxes, than it is to force the government to \'live within it\'s means\'. Again, he can\'t handle the pressure.

Another example is \"Don\'t Ask, Don\'t Tell\". Against the advise of a majority of military leaders, and despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of servicemen are opposed to the \"change\", Obama and his congressional leaders moved to do away with the policy against allowing admitted homosexuals to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces. Too much pressure from Congressman Barney Frank?

We The People of the United States of America not only deserve, but demand better! Let\'s apply some pressure of our own to President Obama. Let\'s vote out the legislators who he uses as \'crutches\' this November!

Congressmen Rick Boucher and Nick Joe Rahall have been used by Obama, Majority Leader Senator Reid, and House Speaker Congressman Pelosi to take some of the political pressure off of themselves.

By voting out his \"crutches\", more pressure can be placed directly upon Obama. After losing the majorities in the legislature, he will be forced to stop his radical policies. Then after more people finally recognize his inadequacy, we can also remove him from office!
