Ayers, Naomi Marian McMillian

Mrs. Naomi Marian McMillian Ayers, 84, of Cana, VA, passed away Friday, September 3, 2010, at Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Ayers was born June 11, 1926, in Carroll County, VA, to the late Shaffer and Mary McMillian. She retired from Spencer’s Inc. and was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister and brother-in-law, Novella and Milton Kirk of Jonesville; a nephew, Stephen Newman and his wife, Anita Newman; nieces, Patricia Stallard and her husband, Phil, and Dawn Osborne and her husband, Dana; and a great nephew, Bradley Newman. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ayers was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Odell Ayers; and a sister, Mozelle M. Newman. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 5, 2010, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Israel Gwyn officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
