Cockerham, Margie Opal Bunn

Margie Opal Bunn Cockerham, age 90, of Galax and a resident of Blue Ridge/Golden Living Nursing Home passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mrs. Cockerham was born November 27, 1919 in Carroll County to the late Sidney W. Bunn and Mary Gertie Stoneman Bunn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Cockerham. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Betty Jean and Jimmy Talley of King, NC and Jackie Cockerham Rector of Galax, VA; seven grandchildren, Blake and Debbie Talley, Walnut Cove, NC, Leighann Talley of King, NC, Jamie and Candis Rector of Surf City, NC, Lynn Rector and Mitch Huggins of Fayetteville, NC, Leigh and Brian Stuart of Galax, VA, Christina and Garrett Shelton of Drayton, ND and Chris Rector of Surf City, NC; thirteen great-grandchildren, Stephie Atkins, Kacy Flippin, Trevor Huggins, Cole Rector, Cody Rector, Brittany Talley, Justin Huggins, Abby Price, Jacob Stuart, Christian Shelton, Chandler Rector, Taylor Shelton, Jayson Stuart; two nephews, Charles Bunn and Michael Bunn also survive. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 2 pm in the Twin County Funerals Sanctuary with Pastor D.G. Fox, Rev. Ted Bartlett, Rev. Bob Adams and Pastor Charles Bunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Monta Vista Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends the same day one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
