Vince, the very loud pitchman on the TV commercials, tells us that the Slap Chop is the answer to most of our food processing problems. With a few short hits on the Slap Chop we can enjoy culinary Nirvana.
This is one of those things where you don't have to try it to know whether or not you like it. Just google the words "Slap Chop" in quotes and you'll get a host of websites to give you information and opinions. The overwhelming complaints against the Slap Chop is that food gets caught between the blades and is not only hard to dislodge, but downright hazardous. There were 24 comments on the Popular Mechanics article alone, only five of which were positive, and two or three of those were about a product that was similar but not the same as the one advertised on TV.
One comment was very telling: "Does anyone else notice that Vince Shlomi uses a nice new slap chop every time he chops something? Never reuses the same one."
The best advice I found online was "If you really want one, keep your eyes open at the thrift stores for these gizmos. You will probably be able to get one for a dollar or two, because that's about all they're worth."
